Reviews & Discussion

Review by mjb Nov 05, 2005 (edited over 6 years ago)
This mid-'90s indie pop group somehow traveled back in time and released their records in 1988 and 1989. How they did it, I'll never know. Musically, Primitives are a lot like Lush without Robin Guthrie, plus some of the essence of the Go-Go's. Lyrically, they fall somewhere in between --not that it matters, because you'll be too busy dancing, running, driving, or skating to care. Their biggest hit, "Crash", belies at least a half-dozen tracks of equal caliber on the album 'Lovely'. A good find.
