Across the pond Princess Julia is resident at London's Friday night at the Garage - Heaven and Manchester's Holy City Zoo fortnightly on Saturdays, as well as guesting regularly at Ministry of Sound, The Loft, Love to be, The Complex, Queer Nation, Club UK, Flesh, Leeds Hard Times and a monthly post at Rimmi's legendary Cocoricò. Having spent years working in clubs, including the door girl job at the Blitz club (see Boy George's "Take it Like a Man") Julia Fodor got her first DJ break residence at London's first 'trendy' gay club The Daisy Chain and progressed rapidly with a coveted spot at the monthly glitterati bash Kinky Gerlinky. Princess Julia's debut vinyl included here is produced by Benji Candelario and Wayne Rollins aka Swing 52 on KULT Records "Moist". What started out as simply a "laugh" has grown in to a passion for UK DJ, Princess Julia and it is apassion that has resulted in success. Seeing DJing as an extension to club life, Julia soon became hooked on vinyl and she began to specialise in a form of music that was coming through from New York's gay scene. At the same time, Patrick Lilley of High on Hope fame was looking for a resident DJ for his new Sunday night Queer Nation and Julia's career as a scene DJ began to set its roots. From there a more high-profile residency emerged when Julia took behind the decks at one of the UK's more influential monthly parties, Kinky Gerlinky, where most of London's leading club and fashion glitterati were to be found partying. As word of mouth about Julia's fresh and individual style spread, she soon found herself guesting at some of the more discerning club nights around the UK such as Venus Nottingham, Vague in Leeds and Manchester's highly influential Flesh. The distant decks of Europe were the next to be conquered and some of the highlights included visits to Rimini's CoCo-Rico and Mazzoon in Venice. On the production side, Julia's talents have not gone unnoticed and she has worked on various projects including a track, Moist Womanly Needs on Kult USA; a Diss-Cuss remix, I Love To Be In Love by Zero B and a remix she produced herself on an independent label, Peach - Sticking To My Groove. - In 1996 Julia released a compilation on React records in conjunction with DJ Sneak, Kinky Trax Collection Vol 4 (Includes "Moist") which sold considerably well and found Julia promoting on Virgin Megastore Radio. In 1998 she joine for a production collaboration with DJ Antoine AKA Ogi Buganovic for Film Noir - Out of my box. Lately she has joined TrusttheDj crew.
