Psychonauts (3)

Psychonauts (3)

Real Name:
Mike Verros & George Pandelidis
Profile:
A psy trance group from Thessaloniki, Greece. Mike Verros is also the creator of a famous mobile trance party organisation in Greece called Brainstorm.
The music of Psychonauts contains a distinct melodic nature, clearly influenced by the more eastern cultural orientation of Thessaloniki, therefore rather close in concepts to the Israeli concept of psychedelic trance. This connection became clearly evident by the 1998 and onwards collaborations with many of the Israeli artists, belonging then to the Morning and Melodic side of trance.
Nevertheless, the music style of psychonauts cannot be classified purely as Morning & Melodic trance, as in most cases it features a great complexity and fast acid scaling buzzlines.

Reviews & Discussion

Review by psychosphere Aug 07, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
Even though George Pantelidis did not seem as the front face of the group, and few people actually remember his name, he did have a rather respectable production in terms of music, and has shown his skills in 3 more projects of his own. The names were Q-Base, Synthia, and Scubadriver (or misspelled Scubadiver). Unfortunatelly none of those productions can be posted here as they were only included in limited Dj Promos, or Magazine bonus CD releases. The group had various collaborations with many artists of the time, and Verros did retain the name Psychonauts for some productions made only by him and an external collaborator. When George became unavailable for a period of time, Mike focused more on his other project called Buzzcraft with Panos Kyriazis. The Psychonauts group never really got back together, even though more work was on the schedule.
