Purple's track Anoxic is in my opinion one of the best composed tracks ever produced. Few tracks have ever made my arm hairs truly raise and given me chills... even fewer being heard years after I bought them.
The track is deep to say the least.
Hard pounding drums with a solid bass-line is laced with musically advanced and beautifully crafted psy-trance tones.
However, this doesn't begin to tell of the true nature of this gem.
One listen to Purple's ability to create a full-on snare roll/ progression during the opening period of the track let at least this drummer immediately go, "wow"!!
With all that said, it's the subtle and over-whelming synth progression that to this day takes me to that place of utter one-ness with the universe. I'm a seasoned veteran of the electronica scene and I have less than a hand-ful of times heard a track go to a higher state of being.
Purple nailed it on this one... it's a building composition second to none.
It belongs in front of 20,000 people. I'm sad to never have had that chance (yet)... although the only time I played it out, it floored the crowd.
