Ricochet started emceeing at thirteen years old, after being inspired by the flows and lyrics of artists such as Rakim and Big Daddy Kane. It was only after a ten-year apprenticeship of open mics, freestyle sessions and studio demos, that Ricochet felt ready to unleash material on an unsuspecting UK rap market.
'Screwface Assassin' (featured on Disorda's 'Mind the Gap' mix tape in 1998), gained recognition within the UK's rap fraternity and it was soon after this that his long-time friend Supa T introduced him to members of the Low Life Records crew. By early '99, Ricochet had made his first appearance for the label, dropping guest vocals on the title track of the Easter Island EP.
April 2000 saw the release of the Universal Soldiers 'Street Veterans' EP, an explosive collaboration between Ricochet and rap young-gun Ultra. Featuring the dazzling talents of Brighton-based producer A H Fly and those of Low Life's very own Braintax, this 12" is set to establish Ricochet as the hot shot lyricist to look out for in the 21st Century.
