British pop musician (19 January 1949 – 26 September 2003)
Born in Batley, Yorkshire on 19th January 1949.
He was known for his distinctive voice and the eclectic mix of musical styles on his albums, combining soul, jazz, rock, pop, reggae and blues. He found success both in his solo career and in the musical act Power Station.
Palmer moved to Lugano, Switzerland, in 1986, and became a naturalized citizen of Switzerland in 1993. He lived there until his death.
A heavy smoker, he died in Paris, France, from a heart attack on 26 September 2003 at the age of 54.

I second that. Everytime I mention/ put on Palmer people only remember his 80's style.. If you get into his back-catalogue you will see this man was actually a very diverse and creative individual. You'll be remembered and embraced for years and years to come Robert. We all miss you
