Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II are two of the key artists that form the great American songbook.
They formed this songwriting duo when Rodgers' original songwriting partner Lorenz Hart died in 1943.
The duo wrote several succesful musical plays, featuring classic songs like "Oh, What A Beautiful Mornin' ", "You'll Never Walk Alone", and "My Favorite Things".
The most succesful collaboration in Broadway history ended with Hammerstein's death in 1960.
