Born 15/08/1955 in Bonn, Germany.
Roger Willemsen studied German philology, philosophy and history of art in Bonn, Florence, Munich and Vienna and began to work as a night watchman, tour guide, museum attendant, translator, lecturer and correspondent from London. 1991 he made it into the TV, conducting interviews and presenting cultural programmes. Two years later he's been awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize.
Nowadays, Willemsen concentrates on being an author and supports several aid organizations such as amnesty international and Terre des Femmes. According to himself, returning to the TV isn't an issue under the present circumstances.
