Right from the off, from the opening few seconds of 'Chromatic Bird' with it's beautiful keys and glitchy feel you know that this album is something special. 'Don't Cry Little Girl' is even more beautiful, almost a music-box sound with muffled speech layered over more keys. During the second half of the track the drums come in, which, coupled with the muffled speech complete the track, and make it one of my favourites. Trilogie begins with more muffled speech, and an eerier synth and glitchy drums which build and build and build into a stunning crescendo, fading out to leave just the keys playing. Cyrconplex is a lot more laid back than the previous tracks, the bass coupled with the keys is amazing, with the continuing somewhat clearer but still indecipherable speech.
Moving into the second half, Maud Takes the Train, if I had to pick my least favourite track would get my vote. Don't get me wrong, it is still a good track but I'm not a great fan of the kind of whooshy, airy opening or the very high pitched synths. 3eme Type is a much better track, a simply gorgeous track, no other words to describe it. Dinaply gets my vote as one of the most beautiful tracks I've ever heard. The sort of music that gets played at the end of the world when everything is about to dissolve into nothing. It almost brings tears to my eyes, that's how beautiful this track is. Metadine follows in the same vein, a very laid-back penultimate track almost as gorgeous as Dinaply. And then we have the final track, Dream Factory. There is only one word for this track: Perfection. An album of this calibre was always going to need something special for the final track, and this is about as perfect as any final track I've ever heard
With a debut album as good as this, I really hope Saycet have another album in the works as 'One Day At Home' is simply stunning
