Reviews & Discussion

Review by KidJ Mar 01, 2005 (edited over 7 years ago)
Sympathetic, Zurich-based artist Beat Solèr started his musical career as a trumpet player and achieved fame with his numerous 12"-releases of "Manila" which - along with several remixes that would follow up - became one of the biggest dancefloor-hits in 2003. His characteristic style never lacks of soul, originality or innovative ideas although in my personal opinion his 2004 album "The Way We Go" was a huge disappointment with its dull 4/4 beats and typically mainstream downtempo/electro ambitions.
By the way, the psyeudonym derives from his last name, Solèr, which is pronounced "soul-air" - and that is translated "Seelenluft" in German.
