Without doubt he is one of the best at that ass shaking rumble techno (I'm sure there's a proper name but I like the sound of that one). But here's a wee bit of information regarding the man. I was playing Buzz - The Big Quiz with my mates the other night, and let the credits roll on - did you know that Mr Si Begg did the music for this PS2 video game? Hardly likely to win the pub quiz with this but you never know.
Just returned home from the Koneisto festival in Helsinki, Finland. Left my ear plugs at home and am now paying the price. Having witnessed the embarrassment which is Moloko yesterday, the entire festival was saved by the eloquent bass rumblings of Mr. Si Begg who most definitely rocked the house - physically as well as spiritually. Rarely have I witnessed my glasses trying so actively to escape my face, or my scalp moving around on my head with a will of its own. Wish I had Mr. Begg's e-mail address so I could tell him how much his set was appreciated. If the musical revolution known as Kraftwerk were to take place today, it's name would be Si Begg. Massive.
A mentalist and a genius at the same time. He likes his acid, this boy. Very strange tunes as Cabbage Boy, a bit bouncier as S.I. Futures, and injects enough bass to trouble the foundations of any building when he puts his Buckfunk 3000 trousers on. Nice.
