Skeme

Hailing from Deptford , South east London, Skeme had a hunger for the mic from an early age. Whilst still at primary school he hooked up with three fellow local rappers and became part of an outfit aptly named ‘The Money Programme’. As always Skeme shone with his distinctive vocal style and made the wise decision to go solo. He was introduced to Choice FM’s DJ X-Ray and top underground producer, Luchi. The pair soon recognized Skeme’s talent and in 1996 X-Ray and Luchi co-produced ’Herbman Hustlin’ with Roots Manuva. Word soon spread and peers were clambering to collaborate with South London’s finest. PR guru Simba hooked Skeme up with Blak Twang and Seanie T. They made the hip-hop track ‘Shoosh’ together along with Fallacy, which featured, on Twang’s '19 Long Time' LP and the crew performed many live gigs together.

Skeme went on to make a mixtape with Rodney P and the pair spat together on the infamous ‘UK Bubblers’. Skeme founded the prestigious ‘Sterling Collat’ his crew that features top artists and producers such as Big P & Mickle. Since then Skeme has completed a 10 date national sell out tour of England (The Rap Revolution Tour) with Titan Sounds and has also performed in France as part of the national skateboard championships with Greensleeves, Canada with Mind promotions, Scotland with Est’elle and Big Ted, Wales with 1xtra’s DJ Digs and Germany with the nations favourite DJ Dynamite. Skeme has also supported Ludacris at his recent London concert, and is booked to support Ja Rule and Mobb Deep.
