Shrouded in mystery (and indeed hoodies from H&M) the enigma that is South Central manifests itself as both a 2 man DJ/Production crew and with their 5 piece Live band; the former spectacularly dissolves the boundaries of what is DJing and what is live music. The latter is the cowled synthesis of guitars and technology which simultaneously manages to re-define the Indie rock and what is Electro genres. SC's first remix for Metronomy's Trick or Treat aired in the summer of 2006 and was played by everyone from XFM's Eddie Temple Morris & John Kennedy to Radio 1's Annie Mac and Pete Tong. Subsequent International remixes include: for Maccabees, Boy Kill Boy, Shitdisco, Van She, Twisted Charm, Radar, Sunshine Underground, Kill the Young (France), The Dandi Wind (Canada) and most recently Shychild (USA) Their music, often inspired by historic mystical societies perhaps inspired the band’s own shadowy identities tantalisingly obscure; although this is not an idly concocted image for this clandestine influence seeps in to many of their more nefarious activities. Indeed it was South Central's first celebrated underground smash came in the form of their Bootleg of the Klaxons 'Bouncer' which garnered support for their guitar fuelled electro hybrid sound on the global underground. A follow up release equally illicit is to be unleashed in August 2007… South Central has released 3 singles 'Nothing Can Go Wrong' on Art Goes Pop, 'Castle of Heroes' on Young Turks/XL and soon to be released on the Regal single club: 'Machine B/W Revolution'. They are currently dividing their time tearing up a dance floor's near you and writing new Material for the South Central Album.
