Originally from the town of East London, South Africa and born in the year 1969, trained multimedia artist Jacques Coetzee moved up to Johannesburg to join the underground rave scene in 1994. Progressing from doing the decor, banners, lighting and ultimately laser shows, he eventually tried his hand at deejaying. In 1996 he discovered psy-trance.
Unleashing his own productions under the name of DJ Starspine or as part of Bent Sentient, he accumulated quite a cult reputation before moving to Barcelona in 2003.
Mr. Coetzee is now a label DJ, producer and graphic artist for Alchemy Records in Spain.
