Steve

Real Name:
Steve Cobby
Profile:
One half of Fila Brazilla and all of Solid Doctor, The. A co-founder of Twentythree Records with Dave McSherry (Fila Brazillia, Mandrillus Sphynx) and Sim Lister (Heights of Abraham and J*S*T*A*R*S).

In 2006 CObby co-founded Steel Tiger Records with Lister; home to J*S*T*A*R*S (Cobby and Lister), Peacecorps, J J Fuchs and The Cutler (Cobby with Pork, founder of Pork Recordings).

"Let's..get on with the business of Steve Cobby's major contribution to downtempo funk in this country and leftfield dance music in general. He is one half of Fila Brazillia and one third of Heights of Abraham, which on their own should get him a knighthood." - DJ magazine, 1996

Mixmag described How About Some Ether?; an album from Cobby's solo project, The Solid Doctor, as, "Classy without unnecessary showiness, chilled out without faking the funk, it spreads its tapestry over two CDs, but your eyelids won't droop once. More therapeutic than a lifetime's supply of Prozac and Freudian analysis. Prescribe now."

Solo, and with Dave McSherry, Cobby has produced numerous albums and re-mixes.
