I rather like 'Sturmgesten'. I enjoy it's deep, cavernous, brooding sound & it's subtle 'on the fly' loop manipulation. More of an exercise in mood that an LP [9 vairiatons of 1 track ] & bit like Platikmans 'Consumed' in part's, it's to Reinhard Voigts advantage that he can create so much atmosphere from such little source material.

Reinhard Voigt is busy person. Not only that he is working for Kompakt in many ways, his huge output - whether it`s Sweet Reinhard, Kron, S.R.I. and so forth, is part of modern music history. Also his DJ-sets and live performances are remarkable. He is, unquestionable a man with many skills.
So, it was just a question of time (and no suprise) that he - like his elder brother with "GAS" - was coming up with something like "Sturm". The first LP was incredible, "Die Glocken" still interesting, but "Sturmgesten" is a disaster.
A sellout , extended over four sides of pure boredom.
I know, that artists, musicians included, need to produce something of poor quality from time to time, to get to another level of production. But his third album is so bloodless that I`m really worried where Voigt is going next.
There are quite a few LPs in the long list of MP-releases, which are somehow controversial (a matter of taste in the end), but this is - with no doubt - one of the saddest.
