Svartsyn

Profile:
The band was formed in Sweden in 1991 as Chalice. Starting members were Ornias (guitar) and Tormentor (drums, vocals). However, Tormentor left the band in 1993. Same year as he left the band did a split with Draugen's (he later joined Svartsyn) band Illska and band name also changed to Svartsyn. In 1994 Surth (guitar) joined the band.

In 1995 they recorded nine songs where five of them were on the next demo release, "A Night Created by the Shadows", where the other four remained unreleased. In 1996 Draugen (drums) of Dark Funeral joined the band. Same year they were signed to Folter Records and released their first full-length "The True Legend" album (which they claim to be the biggest mistake ever in Svartsyns history).

In 1997 they went on a tour with Behemoth and Desaster and after the tour Surth was replaced by Kolgrim. Same year they also re-recorded the "Tormentor" 7" EP. During 1997/98 the band recorded their second album, "Bloodline", which still is unreleased. It should've been released in 2000 by End All Life Productions as a limited Double-LP. During 1999/2000 the band recorded their third album, "...His Majesty", and were signed to the label Sound Riot where they also released the album. After the release Kolgrim was replaced by Mörk.

In 2003 they released "Destruction of Man".
