Real Name:Sven Väth
Profile:Sven Väth is Germany's most enduring and accomplished DJ/producer. Since he began DJ'ing at the famous Dorian Gray club at the age of 18, Sven has created ripples through the world of electronic music in many ways: As co-founder of the trendsetting labels Eye Q, Harthouse and Cocoon; as owner of the clubs OMEN and Cocoon Club; and perhaps most importantly, as the godfather of Germany's trance and techno scene since its inception in the early 90s. Sven, like no other person in electronic dance music, has the ability to expose underground sounds to the mass population. His 14+ hour sets are the stuff of legend, and he will be DJ'ing parties until he his unable to physically operate a turntable - and even then he will be doing something innovative to propel electronic music into the new era. -Steve Eagle

I know Sven has his critics, but for me he remains the german Godfather of Techno. What he started in the year of 1988 in the legendary "Omen" in Frankfurt became a vibe that will ever go on. The "Omen" closed down in october 1998, but in the heart of its children, it still lives on. Sven Väth always had the right hand to pick out the "pearls" out of thousands of releases in the last years. The tunes he played during the last 14 years all became famous classics. No matter if the releases of the first "techno-wave" back in 1990, lateron trance, acid and at the end of the decade again techno. When I first had the chance to see him performing behind the decks, I was like turning crazy... Hes got the charisma to make 5000 people go wild for ten hours or more, and still remains innovative in his music style (though he doesnt always show up his best mixing techniques...) Big respect!!
