Reviews & Discussion

Review by tine Dec 30, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
I was exposed to this great Danish artist through a double cd compilation produced by the northern Scandinavian enigmatic sound artist Goodiepal and have with great pleasure been looking into this outstanding sound artist, composer and writer ever since. T.S. Høeg have been performing and releasing his work for about 30 years now and it is a real gold mine, but unfortunately most information on him to be found is in Danish which makes it very complicated to dive into. The Goodiepal produced double cd called Moods and Grooves from around 1999 comes with a great booklet in English and a lot of info about Danish jazz and punk rock in the 70s and 80s of last century, lots of good pictures, and a very lively described history about Mr. Høeg is well worth checking out. Another place to start for curious ears could be some of the madly energetic songs recorded by T. S. Høeg’s big band under the alias Danes T.S. Hawk and His Great Mongo Dilmons, this is way out big band music and Jimmy Tenor could have done it if only he was more into jazz than soul.

Big cheers to the world for artists like this.
