Taketo Shimada moved to New York in late 80s. Moved to Cambridge and graduated from MIT in 1997. He now lives / works in NYC.
He has been active in both downtown visual art and music scene. He has been making music with Tres Warren of Psychic Ills as Messages since 2006, exploring uncharted territory of Raga, Techno and Drone Rock hybrid. He has been showing his works and organizing events at Emily Harvey Foundation.
He has worked with variety of figures such as - Herbert Huncke, Henry Flynt, Rammellzee, Cory Arcangel, Lary 7, Alison Knowles and Tres Warren to name a few.
