Profile:
Matt Johnson, the mastermind behind The The, from East London, UK, grew up with bands like John Lee Hooker, Kinks, The and Small Faces. He quit school at the age of 15 and started forming try-out bands. In 1980 The The formed and he started composing music, he also released some 7"s and in 1983 their debut album "Soul Mining". Then Matt moved to New York, USA, in 1993 and released his Hank Williams cover album. In 1995 he moved to Sweden.
