Thot

Spreading his universe with protagonists such as electrical thistles, speaking hills or mute windmills, Thot cleverly mixes rock and electronic music, industrial and acoustics sounds, freeing itself from any codes and turning stages upside down. Directed by Grégoire Fray, Thot became, along the years, a true collective, capable of electrifying live shows, visuals performances, acoustics happenings in the streets of Brussels and many artistic collaboration (remixes, workshop). On stage, Fray is joined by Gil de Chevigné (drums, electronics), Hugo Peeters (piano, keyboards) and scenographer Arielle Moens (videos projections), to make Thot a welded band, guilty of intense and intoxicating live acts.
Thot's first release, The Huffed Hue, was warmly welcomed by fans in 2005. They began live shows the same year, in an intimate live setup, with Cyrille Lebeau playing keyboard and Pierre Dieudonné doing the live visuals. The Huffed Fragments released in 2006 was followed, by many featurings on compilations (Cold Room, Tripostal) and a spot on Loverbooking agency’s roster. 2007, Arielle Moens replaces Dieudonné, Lebeau leaves the band and Grégoire Fray starts writing new stuff, before meeting drummer Gil de Chevigné and Keyboarder Hugo Peeters in the end of 2007. February 2008, Thot releases Year of the thistles, starts touring again. Late 2008, Fray locks himself up with sound engineer François Vincent to record a new album due in 2009, and preceeded by Ortie, a first kick-ass single
