A multi-instrumentist and songwriter, Tim Fienburgh was active in the London scene of the early 80s with a band called the
C-Sharps, "a kind of Cajun-zydeco band" which mutated into the Afro-Caribbean-Latin band
The Republic, with
Sarah Jane Morris as lead singer. In 1982, Fienburgh was one of the founders of the cult world music ensemble
3 Mustaphas 3, where he presumably assumed the personality of Niaveti Mustapha III.
