Timelords

Side-project of The KLF/JAMs which saw them reach number one in the UK Top 40 in June 1988 with the track Doctorin' The Tardis, which combined the theme tune of the cult teevee series Doctor Who with samples from glam-rock tracks from The Sweet and Gary Glitter. The band consisted of Lord Rock (AKA Rockman Rock / Jimi Cauty) and Timeboy (AKA Kingboy D / Bill Drummond) and the "frontman" Ford Timelord. The latter was a talking American police car (a Ford Galaxy rumoured to have been used previously in one of the Superman movies) who actually gave interviews on behalf of the band.
