Originally backing singers with
Sylvester and also
Paradise Express on the
Fantasy label,
Izora Armstead and
Martha Wash soon recorded solo albums as
Two Tons Of Fun. Their first album contained several disco classics, such as "Earth can be just like heaven", "One sided love affair" and "Got the feeling". The much-overlooked superclassic on this album, though, is "Do you wanna boogie, hunh?".
The Two Tons recorded one follow-up less successful album, "Backatacha", before leaving the
Fantasy label. Izora was then married and became Izora Redman, and the group then teamed up with
Paul Jabara and
Bob Esty to create
Weather Girls, The.
