Real Name:Evanghelos Odyssey Papathanassiou
Profile:Born on March 29th, 1943 in Volos in Greece. He started writing music when he was 4 and performed his first live performance when he was 6.
In the sixties was a founding member of Aphrodite's Child ('Rain and Tears', 'End of the World', etc.), along with Demis Roussos and Lucas Sideras.
A talented composer and musician, Vangelis is famous for his soundtracks such as 'Blade Runner', 'Chariots Of Fire' and '1492: Conquest Of Paradise'.
So far, he has written more than 30 albums including a lot of collaborations.

Ill be the first here to say what a genius this man is. His music has stood the test of time and more. I think the album "Opera Sauvage" is highly underrated in the electronic music underground. It needs to be heard...the track "Reve" is an instant classic, that unfortunately is pretty much unknown. Obviously there is Bladerunner, but take some time to check his other works and youll surprisingly find many more gems hidden throughout his vast recording career.
