VAC is a relatively "popular" one-man electro-industrial act from the US. A lot of his material is really hit-or-miss, and has tended to stagnate over the past several releases. For a first time listen the music will probably sound really cheesy and the lyrics are just bad poetry, but every now and then there's some decent tracks on his albums (nothing really original though). One of the worst aspects of VAC is Erickson's horrible obsession with sampling. Pointless sampling runs rampant in much of his work, and at times it's terribly excessive and annoying. Either a short sample is being repeated 50 times during one song (i.e. most of the COTD album), or longer ones are used between or during songs, which becomes a nuisance to hear everytime you listen to a VAC cd (i.e. "Psycho" on FWN). VAC is a decent stepping stone into the EBM genre, but once you're in you find there's so much more to be discovered.
