i have never heard anything that would impress me as much as works of Vladislav Delay; when for the 1st time i heard Uusitalo lp i automatically fell in love with; all things he produced are truly amazing - great production skills are just a part of what he has to offer. This music is truly soaked with feelings, presence of which is almost remarkable. Not important which genre he touches: it might be post-Oswald dubby techno, micro-electronica or even smooth vocal house... The result is always wonderful!

For some time, while waiting for his new productions, I was afraid if he'll live up to my expectations, but Demo(n) tracks, as well as Demo(n) cuts assured me that Delay is probably the most interesting musician of our times...

I haven't found a release by Vladislav Delay that I don't love. Everything he does seems to be instilled with the kind of unique qualities of early Aphex Twin or Pole, albeit on a very different tip. I like particularly the deceptively dark Chain Reaction 12s (compiled on "Mutila"), which swell along, pulsing forming rhythms and counter rhythms in amongst the deep soundscapes. In "Huone", a disorientated and muffled techno groove splinters its way into the mix, offering another interesting counterpoint and highlighting Delay's deft manipulation of the interplay between sounds. Eerie and raw, they fit perfectly into the Chain Reaction mould, while remaining completely inspired and unique.

Works like "Anima", "Entain" and "Naima" (the latter being an edit of a live set using the "Anima" blueprint) are more accessible and intricate, fusing elements of Dub, the Glitch - Minimal stuff and Ambient, while being informed by the same emotive and improvisory aesthetic of earlier releases. Long drawn out sections drip from the speakers, as Delay wrenches out a sonic feast from his sources. Found sounds and vocal snippets creep in and out, stuttering in a strangely sexual yet robotic way, highlighting the physicality and intimacy of this music. Occasionally heavy dub basslines roll in and out, and the glitches form a terse and fragmented rhythmic backdrop for the lush atmospheres.
