West End was originated by Eddie Gordon as a studio identity name as well as using the id's Egor, Eddie Gordon and AKA.

From 1988 through to 1997 Eddie Gordon was the creator of many successful studio productions, listed below, as the leading director of the recordings completed with many of the remixes going to #1 in the UK Club Charts of Record Mirror. MixMag, DJ Magazine, the Buzz Chart, Cool Cuts, Mixology, Blues & Soul and Update.

West End was also the name given to the Radio Production company as West End Radio Productions that originated the Essential Mix Show for BBC Radio 1 under Eddie's stewardship from the beginning in 1994 to 2002.

The production/remix team duo of West End the girl group consisted of Denis Ingoldsby (1/2 owner of 1st Avenue Records and First Avenue Management), Eddie Gordon the founder of West End as a studio name and Peter Oxendale a world renowned Music analysis expert. In 1994, they inked a deal with RCA (UK) (via 1st Avenue) to release an album as a proper act with the added three vocalists to the act: Dawn, Lorraine and Sheryl. Their proper debut single, "Love Rules", written by Simon Climie and Lamont Dozier was released in August 1995, and it peaked at No. 44 on the UK's Official Singles chart. The lead singer Dawn moved into a serious personal relationship and the project was shelved, despite touring with Take That.
