Wiggles, The

Real Name:
Anthony Field, Murray Cook, Sam Moran, Jeff Fatt
Profile:
An Aussie icon band originally made up of: Greg (Yellow), Murray (Red), Jeff (Purple) and Anthony (Blue). Due to a medical condition, Greg Page retired from the band in 2006 and was replaced by Sam Moran, who took over the yellow shirt.

They are known for their energetic childrens music aimed at the toddlers and the under 10 year old market. After many years of local success, these Aussie lads broke the big time with an appearance at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC.

Anthony Field, Murray Cook and Greg Page met while studying Early Childhood Education at Sydney's Macquarie University. The three began writing children's songs as one of their music projects. They enlisted the assistance of Jeff Fatt, who played with Anthony in the popular 1980's band The Cockroaches, and The Wiggles were born. The Wiggles took the finished tape to ABC Music, who released a self-titled album in 1991.

There was also the "fifth Wiggle", Phillip Wilcher, a disgruntled ex-Uni mate who wrote their early work and played keyboards, and was later dumped from the band.

I've just read this article on The Wiggles and decided to do a google search for Phillip Wilcher, the so-called Fifth Wiggle. I found lots of information about him and took the time out to read through his website and other articles written about him. I don't think he's disgruntled at all. After listening to his music and reading all about him, I think he's OK and was just misrepresented by the press. I mean, it can happen! Anyway, that's all I wanted to say.
