Willie D is best known for his work as the primary writer and stage show coordinator for the group Geto Boys. His solo discography is largely overshadowed by his huge contributions to the Geto Boys. Willie D's music is characterized as gangsta rap with an aggressive delivery. Despite his reputation for being a hardcore artist who pens often provocative lyrics, he is known for his diligent work in the community and many of his songs contain positive messages. He is often called on to speak at universities, high schools and youth facilities.
