Xanopticon makes some of the most unique music around and I've struggled for a long time to get my head around exactly what it is that makes it so. I recently heard (read) someone describe his stuff as "waves of breaks - almost calming ambient music built out of intense rhythm structures" and I think this a very apt description. Not dancefloor stuff, but certainly very warped music that will challenge you to make sense of it.
