Xingu Hill a.k.a John N. Sellekaers is a wonderful artist. I first started getting hooked on his music back in 1995 with Maps Of The Impossible. An amazing soundscaping, tailored with maestria and blended with tribal enchanting chants and drums. The entire album is just deep and well thought and well felt altogether.
Then I caught up with Fiction and Alterity, and there I got my first slam in the face; not that I was used to Maps of the Impossible, but the sound changed radically, more hardcore sounds, more experimental than ever!! It took time for his works to work on me. In fact, it took me a year between the first time i bought those 2 CDs which I gave a first listenning right away, got disappointed like hell and the time I gave a second listenning and there came the second revelation: what I considered being some kind of bad move was now actually a bloody good move. Alterity is just a wonderful gem, intrications of sounds and broken rhythms, glitching beats, glitching sounds all over, deep and dark, experimental and profoundly engaged into radical patterns. A masterpiece!

Xingu Hill taught me you can change form but never corrupt the content.
