Profile:
From Dallas, Texas, keyboardist/songwriter Cavin Yarbrough and Alisa Peoples met as kids while working the same piano teacher. As adults they formed a musical partnership and through The Gap Band met and signed with Los Angeles based music entrepeneur Lonnie Simmons' Total Experience Productions. In 1980 Mercury released their debut album, "The Two Of Us", featuring the funky, fluid "Don't Stop The Music". It's hard to follow up a record as infectious as that one, and Y&P never did. But the track immortalized the two.
