Reviews & Discussion

Highly akin yet often divergent to the works of Matthew Bower (Skullflower, Sunroof!, Mirag, Hototogisu), Yellow Swans craft a particularly psychedelic, heady form of ambient-drone-noise that is dynamic and electic. Those looking for clean white sheets of harsh noise need not apply, yet those who do not enjoy repetitive structures and hypnotic washes of sound should also steer clear. In the end they do hybridize so much that they will do little for purists of any genre, but those with an open mind and an ear to experimental music across genres will be incredibly delighted.
