Songwriter and talented radical sounding vocalist Z-Star aka Z* aka Lady Z was born in East London to Trinidadian parents. She has recorded, supported and performed with Terry Callier, Youssoo Ndour, Angelique Kidjo, Gary Brooker, Nigel Kennedy, Omar, Keziah Jones, Natacha Atlas (recorded under alias Z*), Steve Williamson, Noel Mckoy, Mauro Pagani and Ciccio Morolla amongs others.
She was invited as a guest vocalist in Nigel Kennedys jazz band which went on tour throughout Europe in 2003.
Under the alias LADY Z she is one half of the souljazz electro duo SLOW TRAIN SOUL with Danish dance producer Morten Varano.
