Named after hydrogen cyanide's (the gas Germans used in Auschwitz in occupied Poland) 'battle name', Zyklon-B were one of the first Black Metal projects to arise in the scene. The band linked three major Norwegian Black Metal acts together as the group was composed of Samoth and Ihsahn from Emperor, Aldrahn from Dødheimsgard and Frost from Satyricon.
Mixing melody with total destruction was the most basic principle of the project: Frost's drumming was steady and firing while Samoth's ambient-like riffing was inventive and shined with originality. Despite the support and fanbase the band could have if it still existed today, the group never really took off and always remained as a minor sideproject.
The only record released by this band is "Blood Must Be Shed", a demo recorded back in 1995.
