Bluze

Bluze

Real Name:
Paul McGillivray
Profile:
Bluze comes from a Hip Hop background, a producer alongside Indian Ropeman in the UK Hip Hop crew First Down in the 1990's, signed to Blitz Vinyl to record the World Service LP and Mad Dogs and Englishmen EP; He lead a double life in the 90’s making Hip Hop during the week, and raving at the weekend - loving the mix of hip hop and house that was the hardcore/breakbeat scene of the time.

As hardcore turned to jungle and then to Drum ‘n’ Bass, Bluze turned too, and stayed with the scene till the present day, bar the odd downtempo or hip hop excursion, releasing tunes on Polyrhythmic, P+, DS Enterphonics, Lacerba and most recently Renegade Recordings as one half of ‘Morph & Bluze’.

Recently, Bluze has returned once more to downtempo and hip hop production, taking the skills he developed as a Drum 'n' Bass producer, and using them in a more chilled way. He's currently working on launching a downtempo and Drum 'n' Bass label, Blue Nine, for his own releases.
