Born 1982 in Athens, Yannis was exposed in several music styles and scenes from an early age. This variety of music styles transmet him a strong passion for an inner quest to find the kind of music which would represent him and express his feelings.
Among his main influences can be found Sasha, John Digweed and Paul Van Dyk. Through his great admiration for the upcoming electronic music scene, Yannis started DJing in several small bars & clubs in Athens. However, he soon realized that only creating his own sounds would give him pleasure. Lots of hours in the studio, together with his passion and energy resulted in his first EP which was released on 1 Shot Recordings in 2006.
Since then, things got in a row for dPen, who released tracks in several respected labels - such as Mestiza Records, FeralCode Records and Presslab - and also managed to cooperate with other qualified producers like Pole Folder, Madoka and V-Sag.
dPen's current radio show is the "Boarding Pass" sessions broadcasted on the internet Every First Monday of the month (10:00 hs PST)from "Friskyradio.com",
