Recently, I've been revisiting to the countless number of dnb CDs and mix tapes that I have collected over the years. Dieselboy’s DJ mixes are second to none. His studio mixes are simply astounding. My favorites are "The 6ixth Session", "projectHUMAN" and "The Dungeonmaster's Guide". The mixing on these three CDs is so precise it’s scary. Dieselboy’s mixes also typically feature some kind of theme and believe me; Dieselboy knows how to set a mood. Furthermore, Dieselboy's mixing perfection can be witnessed live, which is refreshing because big name dnb headliners often disappoint me. Apparently, being a good producer doesn’t mean you are a good DJ. In my opinion Dieselboy is the most impressive drum & bass DJ on the planet. His mixes are just awesome.
What can I say about the artist who got me into Drum n Bass in first place? He mixes with the precission of a surgeon, like few or no one else can, he knows how to infiltrate your senses and make you feel what he wants you to feel...
Dieselboy is a total machine and should be viewed as the best Drum N' Bass DJ in the US, ever. His mixing has gone waaaay beyond flawless, as at this point, Dieselboy mixes records that no one else can, literally. As he has won over the respect of the UK's D&B mafia, he has access to numerous dubplates and "one-time" presses that NO ONE else will ever get. Watching him spin is just as incredible, as he does it 100% effortlessly. Many of his mixes are also "one-shots", meaning no-rehearsal, he just mixed it once and pressed it. Dieselboy's best stuff however is the mixtapes that flow in the underground scene. You can barely find them now, but they are very good and simply amazing. I highly recommend everyone into D&B pick up his newest mix "Project Human" and critique it. It is Dieselboy's aim at fusing UK and US D&B together, as he has US hits remixed by UK producers, and UK hits remixed by US producers. He also incorporates not only Jungle and D&B, but also Disco, House, and even Trance. Very innovative, and possibly the most creative mix I've ever heard.
