Spintronic

Real Name:J.L. Jones
Profile:Hailing from southern New Jersey, spintronic continues on the eternal missions of interpersonal communication and interactive enlightenment. Taking the name of a key theory in the next frontier in quantum electronics, spintronic's music is a blend of downtempo tweaky electro-house with an eye on the present and future whilst maintaining a healthy respect for and love of past electronic music artistry.

Born as Jim L. Jones in June of 1964, spintronic grew up being exposed to a variety of music as well as learning to play his first musical instrument at the age of 10. As a teenager in the early '80's, spintronic was exposed to early electro/proto-techno/techno and synth-pop and fell in love with the rhythms and spacey machine sounds and soulfulness found in that realm of music.

Armed with a yamaha monophonic synthesizer in early 1983, spintronic set about learning the tricks of the trade to create his own unique contribution to the world of electronic music. Influenced initially by the mechanical precision and funk of Kraftwerk along with the emotional melodic/melancholic synthetic symphonies of New Order, spintronic fused elements and personal experiences into the evolution of his musical endeavours to arrive at the sound and technique that is heard in his material today while keeping an ear open to continue on the journey of musical evolution.

Discovering the rave scene in the mid '90's allowed spintronic to make contact with individuals that took an interest in helping evolve further - where things go is still a question. Thanks to the independent electronic music scene in the Philadelphia area (courtesy of Sean O'Neal(fuzzybox) and Rob Cantagallo(tbtmo)) spintronic has found an outlet by way of compilation submissions and hopes to take the next step of releasing a full length sometime in the near future. Stay tuned!
