axi0n's Premiere release in the electronic/house world is an interesting blend between atmospheric rest-stops and pulse-pounding beat-trips. Keeping things tied together primarily from one track to the next, the album has a particularly coherent flow, and while there is a constant ebb and flow of both atmosphere and beatification, the album takes enough turns to make it a compelling and intriguing listen from beginning to finish. No two tracks are alike, from the ambient opener "Fifths of Nothing" to the Filter-Disco House "I Woke Up One Day and..." all the way to the almost dub-ified Diffraction with it's deep, vibrating bass, the album represents a lot of what the modern, and also retro, electronic music world has to offer. To me a low point was Analog Sunset. While this track expresses a definitive talent, I just felt that it did not keep my interest as much as the rest of this awesome release. The tracks with guest appearances are particularly well done, as they retain the inspired sound of axi0n, while introducing new elements from the guest stars. Overall, I would say if you have any interest in classic or new House, and you like music with variation, this is definitely an album to listen to.
