I'm really enjoying this game, I normally play more serious/realistic racing games like Forza and Gran Turismo so the Burnout games are something a bit different for me (I've had all of the previous Burnouts except for the last one Burnout Revenge).
There's plenty of cars in this one, I've unlocked about 23 out of 75 so far. I like that this game is different to the previous Burnouts with the whole free roaming thing where you can explore freely and chose which races to do and take any route you like with the races using shortcuts if you can find them. Theres a lot of hidden stuff to find as well like billboards to crash through which gives you a bonus if you find them all (reminds me of the GTA games). Graphics are pretty good too, although I've not had my Xbox for very long and had a PS2 before so all the games still look pretty amazing to me at the moment.

What was it that you didn't like about the game when you played the demo?

I guess the reason I didn't like it was for the same reason you do - it just didn't feel structured enough. I was also disgusted at the return of 'Crash FM'. I now have the game anyway, but haven't played enough to be sure exactly what I think yet.

Quite frustrating controls from what i've played. Has a kind of inertia all of its own.

I have recently bought Klonoa 2 (which i completed yesterday), Liberty City Stories (very similar to GTA3, which i borrowed from a friend and caned for weeks but i never bought so don't feel cheated, nice nostalgia trip), spyro (the older one, for girlfriend), and soul reaver 2. I wanna get the legacy of kain i last owned in 1997 and soul reaver 1 on ps1 before i do soul reaver 2 though.

I am also at the end of kingdom hearts 2, did get to last battle, am strong enough with cool items, spent the last 10 hours gathering items for synthing, done almost all now, just afew to go. Already level 9 moogle.

I still have destroy all humans in the pile of "to be played".

P.s.

Being a FF fan and not having a DS, is FFXII revenant wings any good? I got a bit bored of FFXII, i will go back to it some time, 12 hours in, and am not hooked yet. 1 year later....

As soon as I have played it, I'll comment the game. I'm actually worried that I might not understand the game, as I haven't played FFXII itself.

The next games I might buy are "Super Brawl Brothers" and "Alone In The Dark 5" for the Wii and "Civilization" for the DS. Except of that, there's not much else I'm keen on.

Edit: Brought "Bully" back, as I didn't like it. Instead, I got "Zack & Wiki". Seems to be perfect to rack my brain over it.

There have been loads of physics-sandbox-type things where you just fiddle with stuff. There are widely available free libraries for physicsy stuff now, but this is one of the first cool games I've seen using them.

Kind of reminds me of The Incredible Machine.

Soul Calibur IV for the PS3. The single player modes are a little disappointing, there is a complete lack of team battle, the story makes less sense than ever (although it's also just as irrelevant as ever), the boobs are even more preposterous this time around, but apart from those things this is a great addition to the series. I'll have to wait to play it with a real human opponent to see just how well it matches up against the previous games in the series, but I've been playing it all weekend so it can't be bad. Most of the new characters are welcome, the character creator is fantastic, there's loads of (good) new moves for the old characters, it's got online versus, the graphics are quite stunning, it's as fast and fluid as ever, and the character/announcer voices are as terrible as ever (luckily there's an option to switch to Japanese voices). Plus you can force choke all the annoying characters as much as you like with Vader, so that's me well and truly sold.

Final Fantasy Chronicles: My Life As A King for the Wii. Nintendo has started to sell exclusive games via their online-shop, the newest FFC is one of them. As a king, the player leads a small country and its inhabitans. He can build houses, stores, training facilities etc. Townpeople become adventurers who explore dungeons and fight against monsters on behest of the king. All in all, it's an entertaining little game. Of course it's far away from the epic FF-games, but it's still nice to see one's adventurers becoming mightier and the country flourishing.
