Old versions.

This may just be one of the wierd things that I do.
Does anyone use older versions of software because of how they work as opposed to the newer flashier versions?

I currently use:
Peak 4 (now on version 6 I think)
Reaktor 3 (hopefully should have reaktor 2.3 on the way after 2 years of searching) - Reaktor changes it's sound engine with every major release, the change between 2.3 and 3 is massive; 2.3 was coded quite badly I suppose, but it sounds far less clinical than any subsequent release.

...and a whole host of other crap in OS9 :)

I agree with you. There are times when it's impossible to migrate to a new piece of software that changes a lot of stuff, so I have to keep old versions of software on hand otherwise loading the parameters into the new stuff makes it sound different.

On the other hand, a big round of applause to the software makers who make everything backwards compatible.
