i recently discovered the tanzanian africafé which, for an instantaneous one, is extremely tasty and also with a light cocoa aftertaste. thanks to the missus who brought me back a can from her latest trip to uganda and zanzibar. la-voie-du-sabre edited this message 3 months ago. DJFrodo wrote:
Their drinks always look so nice in the menus! Strange, was just talking to friend about this yesterday morning when he offered me some. I went to Ecuador last when I was about 12. Drank coffee EVERY morning. Some fresh bread, some thin sliced meat, cheese and a tiny dab of sweet butter. I do miss it but haven't really had coffee since. American freeze dried just couldn't compare. I should try getting back into it as some grocery stores have straight beans for you to grind yourself and in all kind of flavors. I did work at Circle K liquor store for bit. Did hit up their hazelnut cuppuccino a few times (added amaretto creamer). But for most part avoided coffee as co-workers with that horrible dragonbreath afterward. Most coffee drinkers I know, smoke as well so that just adds to the fun. I will go for iced coffee every now and then, but not from Starbucks. I try to find the hole in the wall joints that hook it correctly. There used to be one not to far from me that some german couple had. Super sweet & cool ass couple too. Used to hold shows for local artwork and sold stuff instore everyday. So the decor constantly changed. DJFrodo wrote:

best coffee i ever had was in jamaica. 100% pure jamaican blue mountain coffee. excellent natural sweet taste and extremely strong. in the states you can only find like 25% blends so that was nice. aside from that, i love most dark roasts. whatever starbucks has on rotation usually (it's 2 floors below my office and it's the strongest).

Despite still needing to drink it every morning I've been unimpressed with coffee for awhile. All the coffeehouses I've tried from in the last couple years, they have too acidic or bitter a taste, or something... The only thing I find consistently good is espresso, so I usually order an Americano or a Cappuccino when I go out. Otherwise, it's just a drug I need to wake up. Also flavorwise I prefer the consistency to tea for that bold yet comforting sensation that also gets me going for the day.

For daily I be good with a Nescafe and fresh milk. It's even better than most machine made coffees in offices. Outside it's the latte macchiato, pure and no sugar based natural flavour added. And sparkling water aside. In the evening sparely espresso, also pure and without that german milk cap.

caramel flavoured latte macchiato with a crapload of sugar, or a pure good strong espresso.

Now that I'm a barista again my favorite drink atm is 2 shots of espresso layered on top of sweetened condensed milk. It's very graceful and decadent to look at in a short cocktail glass before mixing it up. Where I work it's called a "bon bon," not sure if that's really the name or if they just made that up. It's delicious and threatens to make me gain a million pounds if I keep drinking two of them a day.

They should have named it "Liquid Sex" instead of "Bon Bon."
