And your occasional Amen Andrews. I should have turntables and be listening to these, but! Alas, I'm just listening to flacs and mp3's.... DMX Krew - SH101 Triggers MS10 DMX Krew - Bass Drop EP DMX Krew - Nu Romantix AFXFANTASAY edited this message 3 months ago. neurp wrote:

Had about 300 records dating from 88-94 Only collected from 92-94. Only have a handful left of them now, or 2 big handfuls. Some early acid, detroit stuff, lots of djax, nu-groove, murk, richie hawtin, only afx on vinyl is curve falling free. Too expensive and fragile a habit. I like going out and traveling and stuff. Nope don't have that DMX as it's only on vinyl. Hence my original rant. AFXFANTASAY wrote:

Don't mind my whining. Just funnin' ya. It's inevitable that I get at the very least a usb turntable soon for the records I do have just wasting away. But then the madness will commence. I'm familiar with just about all BH808303 and DMX and most certainly every lick of Amen Andrews but to hear them whenever I want, I'll need to buy the records eventually. Can't go much longer... neurp wrote:
how did you get into such mad acid?

was there a scene near you? AFXFANTASAY wrote:
Scene, yes, but started going out in '92, it was mainly techno being played out. Any acid, I pretty much stumbled upon when record shopping, looking through old stuff that nobody wanted. After hearing a few tracks and it blowing my mind, I figured out what to look for.

I did hear "Acid Thunder" out a couple of times though and after train spotting and bugging the DJ who played it enough, he finally just gave it to me. It's still one of my prize possessions to this very day.... Fast Eddie* - Jack To The Sound When I started on all the Djax stuff, I just got lucky in the record store I liked with one release and had them special order any and all releases for a while after that. Wasn't hearing that stuff out anywhere. Silly records. AFXFANTASAY wrote:
4 years prior some how, I was the only one I knew I knew wearing happy face T-s and knew of and loved s'express, raze, and soul II soul but was only like 11 or 12 at the time. My record collecting days were 15-17. Just a natural maddie I guess.

listening this for the first 5 hours at work today: Robert Hood - Minimal Nation (cd version, can't be bothered to turn around the record this morning) mwah, not real good, as expected really. some german (why always germans?) chicks even left within the first minute of the mix. but I must say, the crowd (150 people or so) in general reacted not bad at all to most other records I played (some traxx, legowelt, james t cotton, BH808303, farley's acid life, armando etc.) on the deck: Fańon Flowers* - Music For The Last Days kompressorkanonen wrote:
