Pretty dope electroness. Not familar with Klute. Good artist. From the looks I should definitely get 'lie, cheat and steal' Anything else? taint wrote:
I like Fear Of People but this is on the dark Drum n Bass tip. Has he changed his style up a bit?

I stopped buying D&B years ago because too many artists were producing tracks that had a jazz influence and most of them were really bland sounding. They`d sample a jazz bass line and put a D&B rhythm over it and it all became very formulaic. Or else they were producing really dark tracks with stupid hoover basslines that just sounded childish.

I haven`t got the production you`re referring too but i do have the productions below by Klute. From what i`ve heard by him his music does seem to have a more Electronic feel than a lot of D&B i`ve heard and he doesn`t seem to produce cliched jazzy or childish hoover type D&B. But personally i can take or leave his music. It`s okay but not outstanding. Obviously it`s also possible he`s made some really good Electronic D&B or Break tracks that i haven`t heard. I`ll get that release that features the track 2 Lives you`re referring too and see what that`s like. Klute - Casual Bodies Klute - Total Self Klute - Fear Of People This is the only track i really like that i know of his productions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyj88V2hnvs I like it because it has a spacey feel and like you said above you can hear the Electronics on this track. sherbert wrote:

I can`t find it on Youtube. The Only Memory track i linked to above has Tech House feel. Most of the stuff i`ve heard by him is D&B but as Pathfinder says he does produce other genres of music. TIM wrote:

Does someone have it so they can post a link of it here for others to hear? Probobly like sherbert It's hard for me to buy drumn'bass music. This 2 lives track might just be a one hit wonder for my likings of his music. drgiggles wrote:
Klute - The emperors new clothes is very nice. It is mostly downtempo tracks and synth heavy breaks tracks, and some Detroit sounding techno, lots of different styles but at least half the tracks are really good. I just was listening to it in my car, and it pumps.

you really should. I bought that album just randomly and its surprisingly good!!!! very smooth drum n bass. warm vocals and nice melodies and atmospheres Vertiphon wrote:
Klute would have to be one of the best D&B producers. If I recommended some D&B producers who might appeal to fans of idm/ambient he would have to be one of them. I recommend the three 2CD albums, since the second discs have downtempo/techno/electro tracks:

Klute - Lie Cheat & Steal / You Should Be Ashamed The second disc is mostly electro and minimal tech stuff like "2 Lives", clearly influenced by Detroit Techno. The D&B on the first disc is good stuff, some nice warm synths and pads, tracks like "Ambient Hell" and "Oshima" stand out, with relatively mellow breaks compared to most current D&B. Samples. Klute - No One's Listening Anymore This is my personal favourite. With more vocals than his other albums, and some really epic tracks like "Saviour" and "Stuck On You". The second disc is mostly downtempo, quite ambient at times, but still techno influenced. Try some of these samples. Klute - The Emperor's New Clothes This one is a bit darker, but has some killer tracks like "Our Leader" and "Hell Hath No Fury". The second disc is more in the same vein as "You Should Be Ashamed", and has some nice 4/4 tracks like "Only Memory Is A Good One", "Walking Blind", and downtempo tracks "There Is A Point" and "Outside". Samples. sherbert wrote:
Is this version of this album unmixed? I ask because it has a different track listing to the other version released on the label Breakbeat Science which is listed as mixed. Personally i really dislike mix cds. longplayer wrote:

Just had a listen on Youtube and it's pretty sweet. jussumen wrote:
True, this is a helluva good tune. Klute is one of the most versatile and talented producres of breaks, d+b and electronics in general. He has a feeling for good arrangements and melodies. He never gets boring. That makes listening to his docd's interesting. Still respect his 12"es and 4 LP sets mostly.. Vertiphon wrote:
