Red Bull Elektropedia - History and archive of the Belgian club scene

buchla wrote:
Red Bull is making a complete encyclopedia about the belgian club scene. The aim of the project is to be so complete as possible. At the moment they are working full blast, day and night on the Red Bull Elektropedia website. The actual website is just a teaser, a sampler if you like. The definitive website will be an interactive archive where you'll be able to find everything about the history of the Belgian club scene – from 55, Boccaccio, Extreme and Fuse to Zillion, Cherry Moon, Dirty Dancing and Culture Club. They are also looking for all the different labels and of course they will include information about all the DJs, producers and musicians – from Telex, Front 242, Technotronic and 101 to Outlander, CJ Bolland, Ian Van Dahl and Soulwax. BUT! They don’t want to turn Elektropedia into a boring morass of information. Yes, there will be texts on the website, but above all they want to show what Belgian nightlife looked (and sounded) like in the past. This is why they are looking for flyers, posters, photos, entrance tickets, bracelets, record covers, newspaper articles, videos, interesting links and titillating anecdotes. In short, let them know what you know and share what you have so that the history of Belgian nightlife can be preserved forever.

You can join the project or upload flyers, pictures, audio and video files.

The website will go online this friday at 11PM. A lot of info will be available then but it will be possible to add much more info from the moment the website is in use.

I found a lot of interesting stuff in my archives boxes at home that I've added on the website. It's a nice project to work for.

In the meantime the countdown begins: http://www.redbullelektropedia.be/splash/
