Aquarius & A.R.D. - Faith, Hope & Psychedelia

I have a question regarding the following release: Various - Faith, Hope And Psychedelia

I have left a comment for owners of this release here. But it was also suggested to me by another user to also post a thread.

The original submitter draeke entered the label as Artists Record Distribution, though Gizmex changed the label to Atomic Flower Records (without any reasons recorded in the history) where it has stayed ever since. According to the provided release images Atomic Flower Records is not mentioned anywhere on the release. The contact number for Atomic Flower Records is also absent.

According to the provided release images all address and contact details on this release are for A.R.D. - Artists Record Distribution, which is identical to the contact details of the Aquarius (2) record label. The '5 031048 000XXX' barcode number also corresponds with Aquarius (2).

In the absence of any Atomic Flower Records information I suggest the label for this release should be changed to either Aquarius (2) or again create a label for A.R.D. (though this does seem more like a ‘distributor’ of Aquarius and related labels, rather than a ‘label’ itself)?

Does anyone object to changing the label of this release?

Any general information anyone can provide about these labels and distributors would be useful! Thanks!

Strange. I'm 99.9% sure that I didn't touch the label name here, only I changed Imago to Imago (3). That must be kind of bug that it shows me as a one who changed the label here. I don't have this CD, never have it

Don't exclude it's a post v4 bug: it happened to me once that a user kept insisting he never did a hilarious update to which history attributed to him. He went so much far to proof his innocense that he traced the original submission from the archives. The update was changing of the catalog completely, after which another release with the correct catalog was submitted, leaving a false entry with a score of people having it in collection (a Thunderdome)

Anyway, what matters here if the label is valid not who did the update:)

Thanks for the feedback so far...

Yes, I was thinking Gizmex made the edit and that his submission comments must’ve been wiped due to the introduction of v4. But now it appears that it could’ve been just a bug - I wasn’t aware of v4 bugs as major as the one Josephschembri mentioned! I’ve always thought that the user editing must have entered Atomic Flower Records because that label is also distributed by A.R.D. - Artists Record Distribution.

So at this point it looks like the labels to choose are:

Aquarius (2) or create a new label for A.R.D. as that is the only ‘label’ mentioned on release.

If A.R.D. is created as a label we can also mention its distribution links to Aquarius, Sol Recordings, Atomic Flower Records and Sphinx Records in the label notes.

It also might be worth mentioning most of my later Aquarius 12" releases just came in an A.R.D. sleeve. This distribution info can be seen on many the labels too. Name variations on the sleeves include:

ARD
A.R.D
A.R.D.
Artist Records Distribution
Artists Record Distribution

I’ll leave this discussion open for a few days before making any final decisions.

it could be A.R.D. sublabel of Acquarius (2) but on the other hand that label that was now being used has the EP featuyring one track that has appeared on the CD itself so it seems related.
it may be that both A.R.D. and Atomic Flower Records were sublabels of Acquarius.. anyway the gang of people working behind was probably the same.. (i.e. Roy Acquarius)
