What have you been feeding them?

Have you checked for dust in the contacts between the cartdrige and the tone arm?

Are they properly grounded?

Are the audio leads properly connected? Give them a twist.

what make/ model do you have?
If Technics, try removing the turntable plate and getting dust can to spray away unwanted material.
Was there any objects on top of the decks that may have misaligned some of the magnets??

try switching it off & on again. if this doesnt work try chucking it on the floor and jump on it a few times.
If this doesnt work, i would say there is a genuine problem here....

J/K, try using an eraser to the contacts on the cart? (clean 'em up, take off the oxidation?)

It's just the records Joe. Because you haven't played them for so long, you have completely forgotten how shite the records you play are.
